 Track Description
As indicated in the learning gap students have difficulty distinquishing between the various types of music and their era which are covered in the music history unit of this class. In developing the unit "Music Through the Ages" opportunities will be provided for students to better meet the curriculum standard being addressed. The student will classify by genre and style (and, if applicable, by historical period, composer, and title) a varied body of exemplary musical works and explain the characteristics that cause each work to be considered exemplary. I chose this unit because it encourages students to recognize what is important about a topic and discuss why as well as giving them the opportunity to learn something as completely as they can.
