 Track Description
This track will take my students along with the American Girl Addy through a reading adventure. This adventure will take Addy to freedom and develop my students reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. It will also develop the structural and creative skills necessary to produce written language that can be read and interpreted by various audiences. This unit will also allow my students to tell others what they have learned in different ways. (Profiler #6)This unit was designed for my 3rd grade students as an educational tool to help them in reading by improving these standards: comprehension skills, vocabulary, inference, word recognition, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. Our school fell below the national average with cummulative average score of 84.7% in reading.
