 Track Description
This unit will provide activities that will enable my fifth grade Social Studies students to have an interactive experience of the Civil War. This track will get the students away from the ordinary book work. The students will be involved in lessons that will explain the causes and effects of this war on our country. Learning expectation: The students will take away from this unit a better understanding of how this war helped to shape our country and will be able to recall events of importance in this particular time period. The fifth grade Social Studies Standard (History) states that students will exhibit a knowledge of history identifying and describing major events, people, and trends. Students will address historical events and trends in order to interpret historical information and put it in the context of past, present, and future. This unit will enable students to research topics, answer questions, and practice skills on line as described in the Profiler Teacher Survey.
