 Track Description
The learning gap states that students show difficulty in understanding and using homophones in class. The 6-8 Language Arts cluster framework standards states the student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. This unit will allow students to ask questions that help themselves and others understand a topic better (survey #9). They will also be able to combine it with other things they know and then demonstrate what they know about the topic (survey #'s 16,18). The lessons also allow the students to improve comprehension by interpreting, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating written texts. (Learning expectation reading grades 6-8).
