 Track Description
This track is a compilation of writing activities that give the student opportunity to learn to express the learner's feelings and ideas creatively through interaction with varied resources. My 8th grade Reading students have difficulty communicating through written language as indicated by my learning gap. These activities will give them ample opportunity to become better writers through the varied learning experiences in the unit. According to the Tennessee Curriculum Framework the student will develop the structural and creative skills necessary to produce written language that can be read and interpreted by various audiences. This standard is met by included several different writing experiences in the nonfiction, fiction, and poetry areas. In the unit, the student writer's work is read or heard by a varied audience as well. The main survey items that this addresses is the one that says..18.When my students learn something they combine it with other things they know to create new ideas and 16. My students understand how they can best demonstrate what they know about topics. These activities are fun and address many skills needed by all writers.
