 Track Description
This unit allows students to read fables online, determine the moral of the fable, and discuss real life examples of where the moral may or may not have helped them in their own lives. The stated learning gap (to interpret written text) was chosen because the students scored below 70% in the area of interpreting written text as documented by teacher made test. Content Standard 6-8: The student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of written text is addressed. This unit allows students to practice skills online while addressing the Profiler Teacher Usage Survey Item of allowing students to connect what they learned in school to what they do outside of school. This unit addressed our school improvement plan by allowing student use of computers to gain knowledge.
