 Track Description
The stated learning gap is division. The unit Learning Division was chosen because it relates division to multplication by showing the relationship between the two operations. The 3-5 Mathematics Cluster Number Sense and Number Theory Standard states that in order to develop Number Sense and an understanding of Number Theory, the mathematics curriculm must include problems which require students to recognize, represent, and model real numbers and operations verbally, physically, symbolically, and graphically. This unit will help my students to begin with a foundation of multplication, allowing them to model real numbers and moving on to divisibility rules, while supplying extra practice throughout unit. This unit will also allow my students to practice division skills using hands-on materials, division skills online, and relate division to areas outside the classroom.
