A TN Curriculum Framework Content for Language Arts Standards for Grades 3-5 is: The student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text.
Learning expectations for this standard include the following: The student will apply a variety of reading strategies. The student will read independently for a variety of purposes. The student will utilize sources of information including technological tools. The student will improve comprehension by interpreting, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating written text.
This unit will also help with the areas on the pre-survey that indicated that #3 my students think about their best skills and use them to complete a task and #24 my students use Internet in my class to answer questions or practice skills on line.
