The students will take place in activities that will allow them to analyze both written and spoken text to determine word meanings within contex. This unit falls in the area of language arts with a strong concentration toward the parts of speech. This unit will be used with 5th grade students, but it could easily be adapted to fit any grade level. I chose to teach this unit as a review of English concepts and to encourage students to consider trying different ways to solve a problem and working with partners in a group setting.
