 Track Description
This Track has been created for eighth grade art students who have demonstrated difficulty in writing on various topics and subjects. After a teacher evaluation of students' abilities to discuss works of art and write about them, 50% failed to show competency in writing skills and knowledge and use of an art vocabulary. The students will be creating art pieces, writing about them, studying artists to gain an understanding of their work. The learning expectations from the TN Curriculum Framework for 6-8grades are as follows: 1. The student will interpret subject matter, theme, events, or symbols used in works of art. 2. The student will respond to a variety of skills, processes, and techniques used in works of art. 3.The student will respond to a variety of skills, porcesses, and techniques used in works of art. #4 The student will describe, interpret, and analyze works of art by using proper art vocabulary.I want my students to spot the important facts, concepts and vocabulary when learning something new as found in Profiler Survey.
