The learning gap of my third grade students is difficulty reading and understanding grade-level appropriate material. The TN Curriculum Framework states that students will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. This Track meets the following learning expectations: Students will develop reading skills necessary for word recognition and comprehension by allowing them opportunities to read grade level appropriate material, access the internet, and engage in researching writing activities.
