The stated learning gap (students in my 8th grade computer class have demonstated the lack of knowledge in the history of computers). The unit "Invention: Computer Technology" was chosen because it allows students to explore the history of computers by giving them resources needed to locate the history of computers. This unit addresses the Tennessee Curriculum Standard for computer technology 6-8 which states: The student will explore the history of technology in our society. This unit will provide explore the history of technology. This unit will also address survey item number 5 which states that students learn something as completely as they can. This unit provides those resources for students to enable them to completely research the history of computers.
