In this unit, students will learn to identify ratios and apply them to real life situations by creating a scale model of house plans. The learning gap addressed is the use of problem solving and measurement to identify relationships in Math. Content standards addressed include; demonstrating geometric relationships through the use of manipulatives and construction tools as well as demonstrating an understanding of rates and other derived and indirect measurements. As addressed in the Profiler survey, students will use the Internet to research class topics and answer questions and practice skills online.
