 Track Description
This unit plan helps students learn more about careers using Internet resources. The learning gap, recognizing the connection between school and careers, is addressed because students should have a better understanding of the knowledge a person needs to do a particular job after completing this lesson. On my post survey, I also marked that my students rarely used the Internet to answer questions or practice skills (question 24) and this lesson will also give them practice in this task. The curriculum standard is: Tennessee School Counseling Program: A Framework for Action - Student Standards and Competencies Domain - Educational Development - Setting Goals. The learning expectations are: using the Internet to answer questions or practice skills (question 24); exploring what one would like to be doing in fifteen years; recognizing why people choose certain work activities; and recognizing that people have many life roles and describe those roles.
