2. MEET A WINNING MUSHER

Look at the #1 musher from the last Iditarod. Read the article about this person. Check out the musherÂ’s personal website, if you have time. Your homework is as follows: Write a personal letter to the #1 musher. Include details from your reading, as well as questions you would like answered. Turn in your letter to your teacher at the next Literature Group Meeting.

3. LEARN ABOUT SAMOYEDS

Research this breed of dog using by clicking on the topics provided in the Gallery of Working Samoyeds. After completing your research, prepare a 1-page handwritten (cursive) essay that explains why this breed of dog is well suited for sled racing. Turn your essay in to your teacher at the next Literature Group meeting.

4. POTATO INFORMATION

Check out interesting facts and trivia about the potato. Then create a poster advertisement to promote the potato. Obtain posterboard from your teacher. Turn in your completed poster at the next Literature Group meeting.

Click on each topic next to the dog prints. Read the information on the topic. Record answers to "Wyoming" questions in your Stone Fox journal. Vocabulary worksheets must be printed out, completed, and kept in your Stone Fox folder. Bring your Stone Fox folder with you to every Literature group meeting.
