The learning gap of comprehension strategies will be addressed by a class study of the book Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. The reading comprehsion learning gap will be addressed through the use of prediction, characterization, guided imagery, and reader's theater. This unit will allow the students to develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition,
comprehension, interpretation, analysis,
evaluation, and appreciation of the written text.
