Track Description
Students will enhance their curiosity of puppies and dogs through a short study of these animals.They will demonstrate an understanding of the characteristics of dogs.They will become aware of the different breeds of dogs and how dogs become part of a family as a pet. Children can learn about dog behavior and how to take care of their pet dog.
Activities
Students with adult help will use the internet to learn about puppies and dogs.
Students will learn that there are many kinds of dogs with different characteristics.Students will describe and compare the appearance of different dogs .
Sudents will learn new vocabulary pertaining to dogs and their care.
Students will be exposed to fictional stories about dogs.
Teachers can use the humane society as a resource and find information and activities they offer.
Teachers will find internet resources and lesson plans to enhance a thematic unit on puppies.
