This is my initial unit. The stated Learning gap is( students have trouble handling conflicts). The unit ("Pretzles ") was chosen because (it requires the students to think about actions that are good and bad. The 3rd Grade Guidance Cluster States that the students will demonstrate how to solve conflicts. This unit was chosen because it gives the third grade students in small group settings opportunities to identify and practice acceptable social skills. The learning gap will lessen with practice and reinforcement of the identified skills. This lesson addresses survey question No. 11 ( My students set goals, compare their work to standards and check their progress against their goals. Goal setting is an important habbit to learn.
