This unit will incorporate online websites to address a learning gap in writing. Since 3rd grade does not take a writing assessment test, I am basing my learning gap evidence on teacher observations. 40% of my students are not able to write 4 complete sentences correctly. The Tennessee Curriculum Language Arts Grade Cluster 3-5 Writing Standard states that the student will develop the structural and creative skills necessary to produce written language that can be read and interpreted by various audiences. This unit will increase the use of the internet in my classroom for research purposes as stated in the teacher profile survey.
