 Track Description
This track can be used before students begin reading the Newbery award winner, OUT OF THE DUST. It will introduce students to FDR, allow them to read interviews from people who lived during the Dust Bowl, visit some Dust Bowl web sites, learn about the Newbery Medal, and view some pictures of Lucille Burroughs, Karen Hesse's front cover inspiration for Billie Jo, the main character.
