Many times kindergarten students are not aware of the proper care of their teeth. The unit Teeth and Dental Hygiene was chosen because it helps students learn the basics of the proper care of their teeth using different activities. The student will understand and utilize good personal hygiene practices. To achieve this, the learner will: demonstrate appropriate personal hygiene practices (i.e., hand washing, tooth brushing, flossing, bathing, shampooing, etc.), and recognize the consequences of poor hygiene practices. I chose this unit because it provided me with different activities to assist kindergarten students in the mastery of proper dental care at home and use of the Internet at school. It gives the students a chance to connect what they learn at school and relate it to every day life outside of school.
