 Track Description
Most teachers are looking for fun and entertaining way to teach reading comprehension. The activities in this unit are of high interest to the middle school student, who has become bored with the same dull reading exercises. The lessons help the student develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation and appreciation of the written text, a Tennessee Curriculum Standard, by using categories that interest the students. I also chose this unit because it addresses the survey question of spotting the important facts, concepts, and vocabulary when learning something new as they interact with their fellow students, while answering questions about reading passages.
