 Track Description
{ sites and links are given to students to explore the lives and accomplishments of the U.S Presidents. After becoming familiar with the basic biographical information on two specific Presidents, students will explore the trivia, and the more detailed background info dealing with all of the facets of the people destined to become a U.S. President. They will attempt to determine the qualities which made (or make) this person so uniquely qualified at the time he was elected. They will focus on his accomplishments and legacy, as well as a selected piece of information which can be used to create a piece of Folk Art representing this man.The materials chosen and the design will reflect the qualities and personality of this President. The groups will then divide into pairs to create this representaion in their Art class. After sharing and examining all of the projects, students will vote to eliminate 10 presidents per day for 4 days. On the 5th they, based on the research presentations & information, they will eliminate the last 2 in order to select one "Survivor" president, a choice which they will defend with specific facts.
