Track Description
These "mini-projects" are designed to correlate with several major topics covered in a high school Sociology course. They can be completed individually or in small groups as enrichment activities. Some of the projects were inspired by the projects described on Glencoe/McGraw Hill's online support site for their Understanding Sociology textbook.
These projects address the following Louisiana Social Studies Content Standards / Benchmarks: G-1C-H6 analyzing how cooperation, conflict, and self-interests impact social, political, and economic entities on Earth (9-12)
C-1B-H3 analyzing the nature of American political and social conflict (9-12)
C-1B-H4 evaluating issues related to the differences between American ideals and the realities of American social and political life (9-12)
C-1D-H1 evaluating and defending positions on issues regarding the personal, political, and economic rights of citizens (9-12)
C-1D-H2 evaluating and defending positions regarding the personal and civic responsibilities of citizens in American constitutional democracy (9-12)
