This is a lesson on geography; it involves sending and receiving postcards from classes around the world. It’s an exciting way to get your class involved in learning about other states and countries. This lesson has to be started in the beginning of the year, because you must register by a particular time so that you can send and receive postcards before the year is over. There are many ways of extending this program so it is more or less entailed, depending on the level of your class. It can be done by grades 1 through 12, but for this particular lesson we’re working with grades 3 through 5. This lesson not only includes geography but also teaches students how to look up information on the Internet and the correct way to fill out a postcard.
