G'Day, Mate! This track will provide adequate information so you can create THE FIVE THEMES OF AUSTRALIA BOOKLET!  Booklets should include the following:

Page One: Cover Sheet: FIVE THEMES OF AUSTRALIA: Your Name, Class Period, and Due Date of the Assignment
Page Two: Cover Sheet:
A Description of Australia's Location

Page Three: Provide the ABSOLUTE location for Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney (latitude and longitude). Then, using a world map, write FIVE sentences describing Australia's RELATIVE location.

Page Four: Cover Sheet: Place: Human and Physical Characteristics of Australia

Page Five:  Label the top of the page CHARACTERISTCS. Draw a chart with two columns with headings: PHYSICAL and  HUMAN. Under each heading provide FIVE specific examples of each. (five physical characteristics and five human)(i.e Aborigines, dialect/language, specific climate animals,etc.) For HUMAN characteristics, be sure to include information about government, religion, ethnic groups,etc. 

PAGE Six: Cover Sheet: Regions of Australia

Page Seven: Label the top of the page: REGIONS. Draw a two columned chart with the headings "FORMAL" and "FUNCTIONAL." Use the website entitled "REGIONS OF AUSTRALIA" as well as page 716 in your textbook to list the FIVE FORMAL regions in Australia. Then, click on the links to learn more about Australia's FUNCTIONAL REGIONS. (these can include cities and surrounding locations!)  Provide five examples under each heading.

PAGE EIGHT: COVER SHEET: MOVEMENT AND HUMAN-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION IN AUSTRALIA

PAGE NINE: MOVEMENT and HUMAN ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION:  Write one paragraph explaining how goods, ideas, etc. have transported to Australia. Explore Australia's history to learn how other cultures have influenced Australia.

Then, skip a few lines, and write HUMAN ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION. Write one paragraph explaining how humans  have impacted Australia's environment.

(For pages 8 and 9 of your booklet, you may refer to pages 717-723 of your textbook for information regarding migration patterns and environmental impact)

PAGE TEN: Label the top of the page CONCLUSION. Then, write a paragraph explaining the SIMILARITIES between Australia and the United States. Write another paragraph explaining DIFFERENCES between U.S. and Australia. Finally, write one paragraph explaining WHETHER OR NOT you would like to visit Australia. Provide at least THREE reasons to support your point of view. (This section should be a TOTAL OF FIFTEEN SENTENCES!!)

EACH PAGE SHOULD BE NUMBERED IN THE TOP RIGHT-HAND CORNER. ALL BOOKLETS MUST BE WRITTEN IN INK OR TYPED!! TURN IN FINAL BOOKLETS IN YOUR CURRENT EVENTS FOLDERS. DO NOT WRITE ON THE BACK OF THE PAGES!  FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS TO ENSURE MAXIMUM POINTS!
