 Track Description
Track-A-Day

Use this Track as a one stop resource for creating Nutrition and Math lessons.

Nutrition: suggested project: 1) Ask students to find and compare the nutritional content of three donuts from 3 different donut vendors.  2) Have students find information on the food pyramid and their ideal daily caloric intake.  3) Finally have students decide and justify how many donuts they should eat during a set time period (day/week/month etc).

Math: Nutritional information can be used to create applicable algebraic equations.  Having students create their own word problems will help their conceptual understanding of algebra as well as help break down their "word-problem" apprehensions.  For example, let's say a donut has 240 calories, how many donuts must you eat to have 480 calories? answer: 240x=480 x=2 donuts.
