 Track Description
Students will research the history of westward expansion in the United States. They will read about the Lewis and Clark expedition and create a timeline of main events. They will write a fictional story about the expedition. Students will then analyze the reasons why the pioneers chose to settle in the west and create an advertisement persuading people to settle in the frontier. Students will then analyze the different travel options the pioneers had to travel to the frontier. Next, students will analyze the living conditions of pioneers by reading and observing photos of pioneer families. Finally, they will create stories and journals based on their observations.
