This unit promotes respect and appreciation for others through developing healthy interpersonal relationships. This unit will give students descriptions of behaviors that are acceptable to others and how feelings affect behaviors. This unit helps with working in groups and making each person feel valued within that group. Self esteem is also encouraged in this unit and needed within this age group. This unit fits into the Tennessee curriculum frameworks: The student will understand the importance of a positive self-concept, interpersonal relationships and the relationships of sound social, emotional and mental health practices to wellness.
