This resource list is an introduction to the 1960s for a tenth grade basic English class which will be reading The Outsiders, by S. E. Hinton. Upon completion of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. demonstrate knowledge of popular culture or music of the 60s.
2. discuss how the topics of music or popular culture relate to The Outsiders as they are reading the novel.
