Learning expectations: understanding the symbols of our country and the concepts of leadership as shown through the lives of early leaders of our country. It addresses the Social Studes History K-2 standard that students will exhibit a knowledge of history identifying and describing major events, people, and trends. This unit addresses the survey questions about using e-mail to speak with experts (the President in this case), using online activities for practice, and demonstrating what students know about a topic.
