Track Description
These links provide access to literature units based on fairy tales and fables. The units provide a variety of activities to engage my fourth grade students in reading, research, writing, analyzing, art, drama, and using a database. Students are given the opportunity to explore Internet sites and research several different topics pertaining to fables and fairy tales. They are given the opportunity to complete a fairy tale database which allows them to present what they have learned in different ways as stated in the Profiler survey. A TN Curriculum Frameworks Content for Reading in grades 3-5 states The student will develop the reading skills necessary for word recognition, comprehension, interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and appreciation of the written text. Learning expectations for this unit include: * Student will use different ways to show others what they have learned. * Student can choose which parts of a topic are most important to explain to others. * Students can spot the important facts, concepts and vocabulary when they are learning something new. * Students will think about and use their best skills to complete a task.
