 Track Description
The 5th grade science students will be able to identify the 4 kinds of pollution, research their causes, effects, and possible solutions and present this information in a Power Point presentation by completing the unit Pollution Solution. The activities in this unit include the use of the 5 step scientific method to illustrate an experiment and demonstrate each experiment to the class. A chart will be used to organize the research into cause, effect, and solution cateogories. This information will then be used to present a Power Point presentation. Cartoon characters will be created with a poem including facts from the information found in the student's research. This unit was created from the Tennessee Curriculum Framework for Science (grade 3-5). Tables and graphs may be used to interpret the meaning and significance of data. Habits of Mind: Problems may be solved in more than one way and have more than one solution.
